Well yeah. The automatic version of the CL Type-S is alot softer and doesn't have that Helical Limited Slip Differential. Nor does it have that exhaust tone that I would kill for. The auto CL-S doesn't hold a candle to the 330Ci.
Never thought of it that way......but I'm assuming the better handling on the 330i (I have an automatic as well---I know I'm a wuss!) is due to the continental sport contact, 225 front, 245 rear, as somebody mentioned above. I'm not doubting that the CL-S is close in the numbers, but the 330 inspires more confidence on the road, that's all I'm saying.
