... i really do like facebook though, it's great to see / share pictures with friends, see where people are, keep in touch with people you certainly never would have (over half my high school class.)
A lot of ink has been spilled on how heavy FB use affects brain development, social skills and productivity. Since there's a psychological reward in every "Like" received, it's easy to give in to temptation. We tend to go for the cheap laughs, just to get another hit of recognition from our peers.
In that sense, it's an ingenious invention.
But at some point, we have to evolve. Maybe I'm off-base, but I see FB as counter to that notion.
We used to have some genuinely deep conversations here; I still miss them.
So the fact that Zuckerberg's glorified echo chamber suck the air of forums like ours ticks me off.
