I've been told a few times that the rear is mainly for fill and more money should be spent on the front. When I was upgrading my speakers they even suggested I leave the stock ones in the back. I didn't listen to them, but that's just what I heard.

instead of spending all your money on 4 speakers of mediocre quality, invest in a very good front stage.
200 bucks can get you a decent front stage
