synthetics are less prone to breakdown, better flow at all temperatures, and better heat tolerance.

there are many synthetics out there that aren't "true" synthetics. something to do with the basestock. i dunno. maybe reno can explain. but castrol and mobil 1 are NOT true synthetics. amsoil, royal purple, and neo are. some popular brands that are also "true" include valvoline synpower and chevron supreme syn.

i bought some book called the motor oil bible. it explains a lot, but i'm too lazy to read. but if you have a specific question, i can probably look it up. the smart bastards that wrote this e-book disabled copying & pasting. :fawk:
