Timing belt/water pump - replace on mileage or time?
Just noticed that Honda recommends replacing the timing belt and (possibly) water pump at 105,000 miles OR 7-8 years. My 2001 EX has 95,000 miles on it but I've never had these replaced. Bought this car from the dealer at about 70,000 and don't know about the history of the vehicle. Had to replace both front struts, air filter box and had some brake problems but no drivetrain/engine problems so far. Should I consider doing the timing belt and/or water pump now or should I wait til 105,000 miles? It could be another year or longer before I hit 105,000, I don't drive a whole lot.
