LSVTEC is a very general term. Mate an LS block to a VTEC head, and you have an LSVTEC. Anything beyond that is fair game for change.
A better way to go about figuring out what course to follow with your modifications is to think about how fast you want your car to go and how much money you would like to spend.
Once you get that figured out, people can suggest setups and you can start considering your options.
