Just ordered cabinets this morning. Going with a maple shaker style http://www.cabinetstogo.com/ic280Col...rodno=Maple*WC I'll be knocking down some walls and re-arranging stuff in the kitchen. I'm moving the fridge over next to the stove, moving the sink under the window (instead of the corner) and the dishwasher between the sink and the back door. Knocking down half of the wall between the dining room and the kitchen to make an island/bar and putting some cabinets there. Work has been slow lately and Brandy just got a big bonus and tax return, so I figure I'm going to work on the kitchen myself while work is slow and save some $$$ by not hiring anybody (except I will definitely need an electrician).

I originally wanted tile in the kitchen, but with the floorplan being opened up, I think it would look best with wood all around, so that's the plan. That probably wont happen for a while though since we'll probably end up spending around $6k in the kitchen and I don't get regular paychecks The good news is that we finally rented out Brandy's condo, so we should have a little more pocket change in the coming year
