let's just say that if dec 9 is the deadline and they don't comply.... dec 10'th we're fighting in the sand again.
OK let me rephrase my statement...it appears I did not clearly write what I was thinking. We have troops in the Gulf that can strike at Iraq at a moments notice. When and if Bush decides to attack Iraq America will be able to do so. However there is going to be some time that over the next month that the US will try and convince the rest of the security council that Iraq is lying...and then convince them that there must be a war. France and Russia will want a vote on it which will require more time. All the while the US will be moving the 250,000 or so troops to the Gulf that is going to require ousting Saddam. Once all diplomatic means are exhausted, or there is a unanimous vote we will then go to war. I do not think that this will happen at the earliest till February. Iraq has a government that the Unite Nations recognizes where as Afghanistan did not. It is hard to overthrow a leader who is part of the UN without the UNs approval.
