You should redline every gear or go slightly above it (depending on engine) to achieve the best times.



You tell me where you think you should keep the revs on that engine. Would you shift at 5 grand or would you push it to redline? That's a K20A3, but same concept. I'm kinda surprised that you can't feel it's faster to redline second. Also, each shift will take considerable time off of a 0-60 run (0-60 really doesn't even matter anyway, it's no different than 0-55 or 0-65), that's why car makers try to keep second gear above 62MPH.
