Here is the deal with it: 150xxx miles (needs rebuild) Probably gonna slap a Y8 head on it (I heard the A6 bottom end is the best in the D sieries) If I did, would all the stuff for my A6 head fit on the same? Manifold, Header, 11:1CR pistons and so on? Give me your oppinions.

BTW my reasons for not going boost are reliability, my moms is b*tchen bout me doin a motor swap, and if I do an ALL MOTOR build up over time she cant b*tch ALL at once... This I can take. I dont mind b*tching spread out over a year or two but ALL at once meens I get booted out of the house and I have to move to humboldt again :~
Your A6 components should work fine with the Y8 head. You may want to run a Y8 intake manifold though, since it flows a little better, and it'll match the Y8 coolant ports perfectly. I'm not sure about the A6 coolant ports, but Z6 and Y8 head coolant ports are slightly different. The Z6 is squared while the Y8 is round. They should still line up, but I would run the Yb IM, if you can. The header and pistons should be fine, although you'll want to make sure you have enough clearance for 11:1 pistons. If you're concerned with reliability, I don't how reliable a 11:1 CR in a single cam is going to be on the street.
