I want to add something here since I also own a 99 Si....
Cutting and totally elimintaing the 'rain guard' is not a great thing. It's there for a reason - to protect the speaker and the terminals from getting wet. Cutting it totally off without providing any further protection would expose your new speaker to moisture which is not good. Also, the terminals could get wet and lead to rust.....
As for Buckman's original idea, are you referring to the black cup-like piece on the inside of the door panel in the middle??? That's what I thought of when you mentioned that.... I've removed that and mounted MB Quart Musicomp crossovers there before (they actually screw down perfectly with 2 of the screw holes there). But now they're back in their place because I put my smaller Rainbow Contour crossovers in them.
As for
sarcasm and
ripping of other members, it will not be tolerated. I've been here at HAN for a VERY long time and that's not what this site is about. I'm happy to see more and more experienced people come in here and help other enthusiasts. Feel free to exchange ideas and disagree, but if it gets ugly, I will step in to edit, delete, and kick you out (I haven't had to do this, so don't push me....)
So enjoy yourself when your here and thanks for helping out...
