most routers have four ports. but you can hook up switches to routers easily to give you more ports. i would run all the wiring to a structured wiring (or media) enclosure. they have different modules you can use that make it all pretty easy.

and i would run atleast 5e, if not 6. 5e is good enough for gigabit networking, so 6 isn't a must.
