Sure, we are consumers but it's not our responsibility for how safe the operations are on the rigs. The responsibility is on those who own and operate them. They are obligated to make sure the safety standards are being met. Us regular consumers have no power or authority over how BP or any oil corporation conducts business.

i was looking through the point of view of imagine if this didnt happen and they got all that oil without the disaster. i would think people would be happy our foreign dependence would decrease, no?
