Well, as you noticed it takes a lot more CP points to get skills from those other sets. Not only that but since these are secondary skill sets, there is going to be a lot of skills that are simply unavailable. For example, Lighning will never get as many abilities as a Sentinel as Snow would.

[spoiler=skills]My advice is to not really bother, at least not until post-game. You're able to run around and do missions and side quests after you beat the game, so maybe you can start then. I'm getting close to beating it and I'm finding myself using points in all of the primary skill sets still.[/SPOILER]
