When you say custom heel strap did you make it? or get something on the side for this purpose? My heel slides out when I cut a hard toeslide stop sometimes and it sketches me out. My buddy said Burton has something you can put in your boot to stop this.
well the Airwalk Freerides came with a strap system on them already but I modified mine a but and added a buckle to it. So it velcors closed and comfortably tight then I latch the ratchet (more like a drop latch) and it locks me in good without cutting any circulation. I have been using these boots for quite a while (9 years or more) and I haven't found a pair to replace them yet, little more shoe goo and they are good for another season.
