Get a level and take a look to see if the current frame is straight. If it is, and they sell slabs that are your exact size, go for it. If the current frame is not level, then it i think youre better off buying a prehung since those are easy to adjust with shims.
Are the slabs routered for hinges already?

Door slabs will not have the hinge mortise, you have to do that
I dont think its difficult, you just trace the hinge, cut the outline with a utility knife then chip out with a chisel. But I bet they sell a jig for doing it with a router.
