u're right about the vw's and their decent output after "chipping" - its because they alter the boost curves/boost psi from the turbo. you're not going to see the same improvements since your car is naturally aspirated.
Plus there's a lot more that can be done with a stock diesel, they come with a conservative tune for EPA. I would agree, go with the standalone options. The Hondata system doesn't cost much, and there's many options that go with it.
