Well, heres the problem, in case anyone here knows this. LOL- I doubt it.


The maximum load X (in tons) on the horizontal beams in a structure is modeled by the following probability distribution function (PDF):






x^2 - x + 1, x>0
x^3




0 otherwise





(a)Determine the median, mode, and of expected amount of X for x > 0.
(b)What is the probability that the maximum load is: x = 3
(c)What is the probability that the maximum load is: 1 < x £ 3
