I don't think I ever really got an answer on this. The original header and cat are one piece on this engine. There is one O2 sensor before the cat and one after the cat. What happens to these sensors and how would the second one read with no cat on the engine. I would think it would cause the SES light to come on. Is the cat just eliminated like stated above or would I use a different setup for the exaust and have a removable cat below the engine or under the car instead of in the engine bay?

If you get an EX header, cat, exhaust, your two O2's will be retained. One goes in the EX heater, the oth goes in the EX cat. The second O2 is basically there to determine whether the cat is in good working order or not, so if it sniffs excess emissions, it'll assume the cat is bad and throw a code. Some have merely taped the second O2 up out of the way and had no problems, but there's no need to do that if you run a complete EX header/cat/exhaust setup. If you run an EX header and do not switch to an EX cat and exhaust, the EX header will bolt directly to the LX exhaust without a cat, and without a place to put the second O2.
