:werd: to those who said: Let them go through the same ordeal the rest of us go through...stand in the same lines, argue with the same ticket clerks, have their bags searched, get placed in a middle seat, etc.

Congress-critters (435 representatives, 3 non-voting delegates from the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and 100 senators) do NOT need security when they travel on non-military business, and when they need to they can fly on military transports which are flying anyhow, with or without them. Heck, we had a governor here in Taxachusetts who used to take the trolley to work, with no bodyguards or police, and a mayor in Boston who used to walk around town all by himself just to meet and talk to people. That's the way it needs to be.

Insulating these people from reality is the surest way to keep them out of touch with those they supposedly serve.
