The one sure way to find out what's wrong is to do a leakdown test. You'll probably have to go to a mechanic to get it done, 'cause you have to have the proper guages and stuff. It will show if your head gasket is leaking (bubbles in the radiator), exhaust valves burned (hear leaking air from the exhaust), rings bad (hear air leaking from the oil fill cap), etc.
