I see it as a mixed blessing sometimes.

While the stress will probably take five years off my life, driving here has honed my instincts and sharpened my wits. It has also made driving anywhere outside the LA basin nicer by comparison.

The worst of Bay Area traffic congestion seems like child's play after five years down here.
