Default Accord Transmission Failure? knowledgable information needed

Hi everybody
It's been a while since I've been on this site but I recall finding a lot of useful information on here for my problems in the past. So, yet again, here I am. Currently, I am stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq and I'll be home in 2 months or so. My wife and I were looking to puchase a vehicle and have some people helping us look around for something good. Early 2000 model Accords were on our list of interests. It has been brought to my in some of these Hondas. I plan on looking around the net more to find more infomation but if there is any info that can be put out there for me and anyone else that may be considering buying these vehicles, it would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that some of these problems are with the torque converters. So if this is the problem and the only problem it wouldn't effect the manual trannys. Are there problems with the manuals as well?

Also some of the mid-sized Acuras are also on the list. Were any of the problems bleeding over into the Acura models as well?

Does anyone know which Honda vehicles are experiencing problems like this so that we don't invest our money into a potential problem vehicle? (specific year(s), trim(s), limited to 2 or 4 door,)

Any other problems well know to be notorious with Honda models such as Prelude, Accord, Acura (TL,RL, RSX ect ect)? This would be helpful to go ahead and knock them off of our list.

Thank you for your time and information, I get on the net as often as I can so if there are any questions of me I will respond as quickly as I can.
