I'm agreeing with the cost cutting move, but there were better offers on the table. From what ESPN is reporting, the 3-way Tampa deal would have surrendered a 1st round pick. Hell, even the Bears would have given a 1st.

I think Brady will be fine. He never relied on his legs like McNabb and he doesn't ever take hits. If anyone gets close to him he just falls over.
Belichick said he didn't want the financial responsibility of a first rounder. The Patriots now have 6 second rounders. They are definitely are going to be the team to beat in the coming years.
