I was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief when I found out the golf tax was not approved as part of the state budget. The state legislators were proposing a 9-10.5% tax on everything related to golf: green fees, range balls, lessons, private course memberships, etc. This would have KILLED the already hurting golf industry. They only wanted to tax golf...not baseball, basketball, tennis...just golf.
