Default Help please, b16A2 cam seals replacement

I'm in the middle of my timing belt maintenance and found my cam seals need replacing. I arleady have my timing belt off and everything is set to TDC for #1. My haynes manual lacks the step by step instructions for replacing just the cam seals (not the one on the passenger side of the block)

So I could use two pieces of advice:

1. What is the best method for removing the cam gears. Should I reinstall the timing belt, place the car in gear and then loosen the two bolts holding on the gears? Or is there a better method since I already have the belt off? I tried placing a long screwdriver through the gear but I think the gear spins too much and I worry I may hit a piston.

2. Can I install the new seals without removing the entire cam? If so would someone please list how?

After begging this maintnenace I realized I need to get a different manual because mine is too vague, and that next time around I should check the cam seals before removing the timing belt.

Thanks
