Aren't tasers kept in the back of the belt? I don't think he meant to go for his taser. His face didn't show surprise when he shot at all.
No Tasers are kept where the Officer wants it. Some keep them in front of or behind their weapon (Which is dumb), but most Officers keep it on the the opposite side of their weapon. You don't put anything on the back of your belt except for your disposable gloves
