I have this feeling that this decision might also stem from other things... among them
joe biden and his new role as VP...
but hopefully it has more to do with the whole un-constitutional nature of making people weigh millions of dollars in fines against thousands of dollars in settlement money with no trial precedents ever set in the matter [Jammie Thomas' case was called a mistrial due to the judge giving the jury incorrect instructions], all this together meant that very few- actually only 1- would ever have the confidence to even see their day in court. when mixed with already bad press a ruling against them like that would be terrible
It's has been well known for some time now that the RIAA has avoided suing anyone from harvard university because of the university's stance of standing by it's students. Maybe with Jammie's case up in the air and the current economy they're just having a change of heart.
