Includes contributions from PACs and individuals. 2008 cycle totals based on data released electronically by the Federal Election Commission on Sept. 2, 2008.
Now, there's some interesting phenomenon with those numbers. About 62% of the contributions were to PACs, and the rest private party donations from people who are employed at the company. So let's look at those numbers again, but look at contributions to PAC (Political Action Committees, which slush funds for receiving political donations) being focused, as those are the numbers that are showing contribution by groups with intent to have political sway.
