I would change your hours first if at all possible.
Whether you go for the AA or not, try not to break stride in your studies by getting trapped in a job with no future.

I picked up two AAs the semester before I transfered to CSUN, but only out of convenience.
I had to take one extra course that semester to satisfy the state prerequisite. Since I was working part-time, the extra work wasn't a big deal.
