Well the problem with the vx/cx transmission is that yes, it does have a really tall 5th gear, which is a good thing... but it also has a really tall 3rd and 4th, which is a very very bad thing. It seriously feels like shifting 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th. If you can rebuild your trans with a 5th gear swap, or find someone to do it for a reasonable price, I think that would be a much better solution.
Thanks, Dave. I've been dancing around that for a while and feel I should get it done before my tranny fails completely. I'm sure one of the O.G.'s has enough parts to Frankenstein one together for me.
