Could I use this toutorial for my 98 ex engine even though it says b18 engine?
Could I also use the valve clearance toutorial for my car even though its showing on a DOHC although mine is a SOHC?
The timing adjustment process is the same, except the SOHC stock timing values are different. It doesn't matter as long as you're using the stock timing marks on your crank pulley. The red mark will still be stock timing, and the marks on either side of it are still +/- 2 degrees, it just won't be the same values as in the pic of the B18C crank pulley marks.
As for the valve adjustment procedure, it's actually a lot simpler on a SOHC than on a B series. You don't even need to make that offset wrench like thy did. Just a regular 10mm box-end wrench, flathead screwdriver,a nd the appropriate feeler gauges. Then, just follow the same process outlined on the page(adjust until there's slight drag on the gauge, then tighten the lock nut). The rocker arm tappets on an SOHC aren't recessed into the head like on a DOHC, so it's a lot easier. Just make sure each cyl is at TDC before you start adjustin its valves, and make sure you're adjusting the right cylinder. It's easy to accidently adjust cyl 3 while cyl 2 is at TDC, etc.
