That's what I thought. Though I do like some "cool" factor in the fisheye, but I realize that 90% of the time, I don't want that. It's one of those things you want to do once a while.

I think it's depends on the lens.
Between the Pentax 12-24mm and the Sigma 10-20mm, I'd personally choose the sigma because of the 2mm can make a huge difference. Also, I can shoot at 12mm and won't have the distortion I'd do with the 12-24mm at 12mm.

I need to learn PS better. But yea, I think shoot at 12-14mm with the sigma 10-20mm would give less distortion than the pentax 12-24mm.
Some people also said that I can achieve the same thing with the Fisheye 10-17mm and crop the center, I'd have the wide angle compare to the 12-24mm. That's another interesting though as well. Any insights?
