If a union had been involved they would have demanded these things and threatened strike to get them.
You cant deny that in the job you were fired from, the deal that you were getting was "almost" as good as the deal the union employees were getting because the company didn't want you to be union. In reality, if you want to call it negotiating or threating, your pay and benefits at that job were what they were because of the union.
