May 28 The Associated Press reports Detroit Tigers 3B Carlos Guillen (hemorrhoids) has been shifted to designated hitter due to a bad case of hemorrhoids.

May 28 DH Carlos Guillen was slotted as the DH Tuesday night for Detroit because of a bad case of hemorrhoids. "The decision is that he can hardly move," manager Jim Leyland explained. "He has hemorrhoids so bad, he probably shouldn't have been out there. I don't know if he's going to have them lanced or not." Leyland said the problem has bothered Guillen for nearly a week "but got worse. He could hardly walk last night. He's hurting, but he's a trouper."
