I'm inspired again because the 8gb MSD is $60 at Frys. h:
They used the Pandora Battery and Memory stick.

Essentially the battery forces the PSP to boot up into bios mode and tells the PSP to talk to the Memory stick which has a bios flasher and the firmware install file on it. It installs the new firmware and poof...few setting changes and you have crazy control. I can change my processor speeds and tweak a few other things.

You can probably find a cheaper deal on a MSD through buy.com or amazon. I got my 4gig micro M2 from buy.com for $5 (used the $30 credit card deal)
