For the last few weeks I have been pondering whether I really want a full CAI or a cone filter replacement for the OEM airbox or just a removed resonator.

Anyway I was bored on Sunday and I picked up a "BOOTLEG" cone shaped airfilter from Autozone. I was looking for a K&N but they had none in stock. This busted cheap $20 cone just slipped right on over my intake tube. There were no clips or bands to hold it in place. It was so ghetto! (At least the OEM box is screwed down so it wont move - eliminating the possibility that the tube could pop out of the filter box.)

What I would like to know is if the K&N cone filter actually has a proper bracketing mount for the air intake tube or does it just slap right on? Also does it just hang off the end of the intake tube without any way to secure it to the frame?
