A third solution (besides 1. take it to get checked, and 2. just buy a new battery) is to measure the DC voltage yourself, if you have a voltmeter handy.

here, for example. Measure voltage after the battery has been sitting around overnight or so; 12.4V or below points to battery not holding a charge.
Also measure voltage while car is running; it should read about 13.5V, which would indicate the alternator is putting out enough juice, which recharges the battery while you are driving around.
