Properly clearanced bearings should not spin. The people that spin ACLs are usually the ones that don't plastigauge them. In your case, sounds like your oil pump failed. Do you have a oil pressure gauge?

Not sure why it happened at the same time as the pipe blowing off. A lean condition won't kill a rod bearing. My bet is on oil pump.
