doesnt the 04 come with a 6cd changer? if so the dash kit can be purchased, but its expensive to be honest. If anything - as you mentioned use the lower compartment and fiberglass it. it will fit perfectly, as i have designed an enclosure for that compartment befor. The only thing is, you will need to re route your radio wires. other than that its easy to do.
