There is your problem. Who the hell told you that anyways? And if we are talking about an SIR II B16A then I can definately tell you they are even more different. I mean yes they all have a an ICM, coil, rotor, etc. But in no way are they the same.
wierd... i have a d15b7 (93 cx) and a b16a 2nd gen obd1. the cap and rotor are def. interchangeable. the coils have the same part # too. icm *looks* the same, but i didnt change those. the were a couple of manufacuturers for distributers, maybe i lucked out and got 2 of the same brand.
