We all have our theories... vapor lock, O2 sensor, condensation in the fuel injector, crappy battery.. but before we start digging around the engine I thought I'd post this to see if anyone else has had this problem or any other suggestions for fixing this.
Some added info.. he just changed the air filter and the oil, cleaned the battery terms.
main relay problem. You know the one... you go to start the car and the engine will crank like mad but not "catch." It's probably a hot day or a hot part of the day. If you check for spark, you'll see a nice, fat, blue spark across a 1/4" gap. But the problem isn't caused by a lack of spark. It's caused by a lack of fuel.
The main relay. It has two jobs: it provides power to the ECU and—when the ECU sees a tach signal—it provides power to the fuel pump. If the main relay fails in either of these functions, the car cannot start.
replace main relay, good luck
