Are you familiar w/ the way rear wheel drive cars work...your tranny has sent gear ratios but your rear end is the easiest to change. Have you ever heard a Mustang guy say he way putting a 3.73 gear in his car??? MUCH more aceleration...now put this in Honda perspective, changing your 4.4 FD that is stock in your GSR tranny to a 4.9 FD will tremendously increase you acceleration and keeping the GSR gearing will still keep the revs decent on the highway...this mindset helps the Type R so much, a steep FD combined w/ great gearing for an allmotor car...put it simple, it'd be like adding 25 hp w/ o actually adding 25 hp, thats how much better it would accelerate.
