Default 04 Accord will not restart

I went out and started my car to let it warm up before leaving for work. When I went back out a few minutes later (maybe 2-3 minutes) it had stopped running. I tried restarting it and it would not. It turns over and I smell a strong gas like odor from the rear, but still will not start. I waited a half hour or so and tried it again, no luck! Tried it again the next day, no luck! I went to my Haynes manual for troubleshooting, tried jumping the code diagnostic plug like recomended and no code appeared. I tried a spark plug tester in the lead between the dist cap and coil, can't tell if I have spark or not. A few times before it acted this way, but It always healed itself after a few minutes.
I think it was trying to tell me something then. My mechanics said they couldnt help me unless I brought it to them when It was acting up. DUUUHHH!! HELP What's next?
Any common problems other than fuel pump, relays, coil, or anything else anybody can recomend as a culprit? I dont want to fork out an extravagant ammount of denero for a simple fix I may be able to do myself.
Thanks a bunch!
