Yeah, I was just scared because i only got the car a month or two ago and didn't want to hydrolock it this early lol, thanks for the anecdotes tho, make me feel a little less worried.

I thought about this but the end of the pipe where the filter goes on is lipped, so cutting it would produce a flat ended pipe, dunno if it's a big though..
You'll be fine. Mine is cut and I made it into a two piece when we had really bad rains out here about 2 yrs. ago and roads were actually getting flooded. It clamps on just the same.
Oh, and it was me who brought up Canada. Not sure what I was thinking, but for some reason, I honestly thought I saw it said you from Canada. My bad...brain fart...I think I thought I read Toronto and at that point figured Canada w/o reading Ohio next to what actually said Toledo. Sorry...
