So I just came back from Autozone to have the battery tested and the guy said that it was drained.I have jumped the car a couple of time per week for the past couple of weeks, just to get it running.I let it run for about 15 to 20 minutes then when I turn it off, I completely disconnect the terminals from the battery so that there is nothing to drain any power from the battery. After I told the guy at Autozone about this he told me that there is some sort of electrical problem(no duh, right?) and that it's probably a bad alternator. He speculated that when the car is running,it is draining the battery instead of getting it's power from the alternator and that's why the battery is practically dead even though it's a new battery.
So I guess I will test the alternator to see if it's still any good and if it isn't then I'll replace it.Has anyone ever changed an alternator on a 5th gen Accord? Is it and easy swap or should I just have someone else put a new one in?
