no animal i have ever owned has freaked out in heat. people claim spaying and neutering is to avoid strays and overcrowded humane societies, 2 biproducts of irresponsible pet ownership. if your animal is in heat, dont leave her outside unsupervised for any random dog or cat in the neighborhood to come impregnate.
desexing an animal is a completely unneccesary method created by do-gooders and vets alike. one group is able to bypass accountability and another is able to make some money.
