My dad likes the Simi Sauvignon Blanc which I think tastes like butt.

I will check out the Landslide Cab though. Have you ever tried the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon. It is around 45 bucks a bottle so I don't get it very often but it is a favorite of mine. I actually prefer the Shafer "Hillside Select" but I have only had it a couple of times as it is $200 a bottle h:
