3 tows and 3 repair shops later the problem was the ground wire under the thermostat. it had to be replaced. 225. 35 for the diagnosis and wire replacement. groundwire goes from the fuel injectors to the ecm. all those symptoms so many misdiagnoses many people touching that car and a ground wire. everything is working but the seatbelt dash light. i havent had time to check the lights its not dark yet.
the d4 light is still flashing 1x with the ceu light when the ignition is turned on. the seatbelt chime and light didnt work when i got the car back. i fiddled with the wire under the dr seat the chime came back on the light on the dash didnt come back on. i wonder if its this used cluster. the tstat and coolant temp sensor didnt make the gauge needle change. im not changing the sending unit ill just live with it. after having asked the 1st mechanic last thurs if he thought it was that ground wire because my friend had changed out the tstat and temp sensor getting antifreeze everywhere. nope. that is what it ended up being after all. 3rd shop dx it.
wasnt the distributor or alarm. yet the alarm must be tied into it some how because the d4 light didnt start to flash until i armed the alarm and unarmed it. the alarm shop reset the alarm removed the codes. i didnt arm it for the next tow to an electrical diagnostic shop. i used the key to lock it. when i got in it to start it the d4 light didnt come on. i get home and arm it the d4 comes on when i get in it to run errands. time to get rid of this car.
