I have owned my 2005 Honda Pilot and now I have a 05 Accord 4cyl. I am mechanically inclined and in the past I followed other forums for my cars I had before my Hondas.

On the Maxima forum for the ATF I did on my Maxima, I drained the transmission, added the same amount of fluid, disconnected the return line from the tranny and put it in a gallon container. I turned on the car for 20 seconds shifting into all gears with the e-brake on and when the gallon container filled up, I turned the car off and filled it with that much fluid. I repeated this process until the fluid was pink. The method allowed for the fluid to go through the TC then into the gallon container.

I did this with the Yukon as well and it worked out fine.

My question is, how come no one mentions this method for the Hondas? Can this not be done with this transmission or is it just not recommend for the Hondas? I have looked at the owners manual, read all the posts about drain/fill 3 times etc. I deffinately wont take either of my cars to any lube and go shop. I will always try to perform all routine maitenance as it allows me to get to know my cars and I know the maintenance was performed on time.

Take Care
